Cable operators have enjoyed enormous success in the last decade. The growth of high-speed data and traditional cable television offerings has secured a significant residential subscriber base. The ARRIS Touchstone® Commercial Services Modem CSM470 T1/E1 MTA delivers T1/E1 connectivity over HFC networks. This innovative product from the leading provider of solutions to the cable industry has two distinct deployment possibilities. Small to medium-sized business may use this Touchstone product for private line and PBX and data connectivity. It can also be used as cellular backhaul from cell sites. The CSM470 supports a single T1/E1 interface, a 100 Base-T Ethernet port and a DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem all contained in stand alone packaging that can be desk or wall mounted. T1/E1 traffic is packetized with circuit emulation technology based on Pseudowire Emulation (PWE3) specifications and standards. By reducing delay and jitter, this Touchstone modem delivers the same level of quality as the TDM network, but at a greatly reduced cost. Quality of service is maintained for the circuit emulated T1/E1 traffic, permitting no loss of performance in a 1RU package.
