For over a decade, ARRIS has been developing its n-class servers, culminating in the n5™; a state-of-the-art scalable server with a hybrid disk/RAM streaming architecture. The n5™ is a content storage and delivery system that is based on our hypercube architecture and extensive experience in designing and building massively parallel processing supercomputers.
The building block of the n5™ is the MediaHUB which contains all the components needed to operate as an independent video server, including hard disk drives, output modules, and a CPU. A single 5 RU MediaHUB provides 5,400 Mbps of video bandwidth and will hold up to 24 300GB hard disk drives currently. It also supports 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM.
