AUSPICE® TLX® PLATFORM INTEROPERATES WITH CEDAR POINT SAFARI C³ VOICE-OVER-CABLE SYSTEMS
Auspice TLX Real-Time Systems Integration and Operations Automation Platform Provides Foundation for Proactive Voice Service Management
Framingham, MA ― May 3, 2004 ― Auspice Corporation today announced that its TLX Platform interoperates with Cedar Point Communication's SAFARI C³ Media Switching Systems for PacketCable voice services. The interoperability was achieved as part of cable provider field testing for voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) services on cable networks.
"To develop and deploy a value-added solution for proactively managing the health of the cable broadband VoIP services, we are leveraging our vast experience in deploying solutions that monitor, correlate and analyze events from millions of broadband cable devices in real time every day," said William Yan, Auspice Executive VP of Sales and Business Development. "In the field, we have demonstrated that a forthcoming TLX-based solution for voice service management operates with Cedar Point's leadership switch technology. This is an important step ahead in making voice-over-cable as predictable, reliable and efficient to deploy and maintain as cable-based high-speed data services are today."
The Auspice TLX Platform holds the prominent position in the broadband cable industry for intelligent device monitoring, event correlation, root-cause and scope-of-failure analysis and intelligent trouble-ticketing solutions. The platform is used by the cable industry to provide these and other intelligent automation solutions for more than half of the installed cable modems in the United States. Also, the TLX Platform is currently being used to automate provisioning and auditing of cable-based circuit telephony services for more than one million subscribers.
"Cedar Point's mission has been to develop simple, cost-effective voice switching solutions for the cable industry," said Dave Spear, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Market Development for Cedar Point. "An important part of this mission is to ensure the interoperability of SAFARI C³ with the broadest mix of vendors and products, including Auspice TLX, as a means of accelerating deployments with cable system operators."
